Description:
Meeting files for the Joint and Select Committees on Pension Policy. The Joint Committee on Pension Policy (JCPP) was created in 1987 to study pension benefits and funding policies, make policy recommendations, and to appoint the State Actuary. In 2003 the JCPP became the Select Committee on Pension Policy (SCPP), which altered the makeup of the committee but retained the same duties regarding pension policy, with responsibility for appointing the State Actuary shifting to the State Actuary Appointment Committee. Staff and technical support for the SCPP, as well as records management, is provided by the Office of the State Actuary.

Agency History: The Office of the State Actuary (OSA) is an independent and non-partisan Legislative agency and works primarily on the funding and benefit issues of the state’s public retirement systems. OSA was created in 1977 and its duties are listed in the Revised Code of Washington Chapters 44.44 and 41.24.
